Saint Raymond of Penyafort 1180-1275
Saint Raymond was born in Barcelona and it was here where he was educated and later received a doctorate in cannon law. He joined the Dominicans in 1222, however was called to Rome by Pope Gregory IX after commissioning his work on cannon law. He was then elected Master-General of the Dominicans and gave the order a set of regulations to better it. He died in 1275.

Dear Lord, as we reflect on
Saint Raymond of Pennafort
we give thanks for all that he shared
through his writings on the Faith
and his influence on cannon law.
Let us look to St Raymond and
be influenced by these writings.
We ask this through Christ, Your Son, Our Lord.
