St John Bosco was brought up by his mother who was widowed, he attended Church and was very devout. He discerned and became a Priest, settling in Turin where he found his passion for helping young people especially those who were disadvantaged. He founded the congregation of the Salesians to continue carrying out his work, which he named after St Francis de Sales.

Almighty and Ever-living God,
we pray for our young people,
that by your guidance and through the
intercession of St John Bosco,
they can become the very best
versions of themselves striving for holiness.
Let them hear Your call to serve and follow you,
every day of their lives.
We ask this through Christ your Son our Lord.
